With a view to the constantly changing market requirements and the needs of its customers, MSIG Insurance Europe AG is strategically expanding its German business. An important step in this process is the new structure in Casualty & Specialties. The Financial Lines department has been newly created. “The reorganisation will enable us to offer even more targeted insurance solutions to our customers in the future,” says Andrea Brock, Managing Director of Region Germany.

Since 1 February 2025, Verena Heimig has been leading the department as Head of Casualty. She has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has held various positions in the AXA-Group and predecessor companies. For the past ten years, the insurance business economist has been responsible for the liability industry division at AXA Insurance AG. In addition to her in-depth technical expertise, she has extensive strategic experience in the development and management of insurance solutions. With her on board, the development of the Casualty department will be driven forward.

The company was also able to recruit Sarah Sodies as Head of Financial Lines. She took over the management of the newly created department on 1 April 2025. The business graduate has been working in the insurance industry for more than 20 years and has specialised in D&O insurance in particular. Her professional career has taken her to well-known companies such as Gerling, HDI-Gerling and Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG. Her comprehensive knowledge of the market and extensive experience with complex risk structures will make a decisive contribution to the strategic expansion of the Financial Lines division.

Heimig and Sodies will report to Michael Pille, Underwriting Director of the Region Germany. “The addition of Verena Heimig and Sarah Sodies to our team is an important step for us to further expand our market position in Germany,” says Pille. “I look forward to developing our business together with both colleagues and wish them every success in their new roles.”
