Gerard Stigter
Gerard Stigter is Director Actuarial Function at MSIG Europe. Based in the Netherlands, he serves as Actuarial Function Holder for MSIG Europe’s legal entity and it’s predecessors since 2020. He is responsible for providing independent oversight and advice on reserving, technical provisions, capital modelling, technical pricing, underwriting performance, reinsurance and credit risk.
With more than a decade of actuarial leadership experience within the MSIG and MS Amlin group, Gerard previously served as Chief Actuary, where he led actuarial teams, managed the quarterly reserving process, oversaw Solvency II technical provisions and contributed to capital management and regulatory reporting. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in strengthening actuarial governance, enhancing financial resilience and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Gerard has studied Econometrics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Control Function Mandate
To provide independent actuarial oversight and advice to the Board and senior management, ensuring the adequacy of technical provisions, supporting effective risk and capital management, and maintaining compliance with actuarial and regulatory standards.
