MSIG Europe announces CEO succession, reinforcing growth strategy and market position

MSIG Europe today announced a leadership transition, marking the next chapter in the company’s development and strategic ambition. The Board has nominated Tom Oostra, currently Chief Executive Officer of MSIG Specialty Marine NV (MSM), MSIG Europe’s subsidiary, as the company’s next CEO, subject to regulatory approval.

Tom Oostra will succeed Klaus M. Przybyla, who has announced his intention to retire from his executive positions after almost 14 years of successful leadership at MSIG. During his tenure, Klaus M. Przybyla played a pivotal role in MSIG Europe’s growth and development, including the successful execution of Legal Day one of the merger, that established MSIG Europe SE as a unified European platform in July 2025.

“MSIG Europe is a strong and successful organisation with a clear strategy, a solid structure and significant opportunities for future growth,” said Jan Carendi, Chair of the Board of Directors. “On behalf of the Board, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Klaus M. Przybyla for his outstanding leadership and dedication over the past 14 years. His contribution has been instrumental in shaping the company we are today. We are delighted that this succession process has led to the appointment of an outstanding internal successor in Tom Oostra, whose deep understanding of our business, our people and our strategic priorities positions him exceptionally well to lead MSIG Europe into the future.”

During his eight years as CEO of MSM, Tom Oostra successfully developed the business into a highly respected Specialty Managing General Agent (MGA), recognised for its agility, innovation, customer focus and responsiveness to market developments.

“I am honoured by the trust placed in me and grateful for the opportunity to lead MSIG Europe,” said Tom Oostra. “We will continue building on the strong foundation established under Klaus M. Przybyla’s leadership. As risks become increasingly complex, our customers and business partners need a trusted risk partner that combines expertise, innovation, financial strength and responsiveness. I look forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to continue delivering sustainable growth and long-term value for all our stakeholders.”

The transition process begins immediately, allowing for a structured handover of responsibilities between Klaus M. Przybyla and Tom Oostra. Przybyla will continue to serve as CEO throughout the transition period, ensuring continuity for employees, customers and business partners. The timing of the formal leadership change will be confirmed following the completion of regulatory approvals and transition arrangements.

Once Tom Oostra assumes the role of CEO of MSIG Europe succeeding Klaus M. Przybyla, an Interim CEO will take on leadership of MSM, pending the appointment of a permanent successor.
